Do you have gear you want/need to mount on the roof. Well have no fear Offroad Animal has you covered.
The Wk2 Grand Cherokee has an interesting roof set up. Jeep put these 12 threaded buttons (6 per side) on the roof. Nice right. Well almost. First of all they used the front and back ones to hold the fancy channels used to take roof bars, then are held down via the 4 in the middle. Biggest
problem is they are located on a section the the roof that can't really take much weight at all. Hence why Jeep gave the roof some crappy load rating. This is because if you put more load up there you're going to damage your roof.
Then we have some roof rack manufacturers (not Offroad Animal) who mount their roof rack directly onto these buttons. Tsk Tsk, bad choice. Say hello damaged roof if you put anymore weight up there (don't forget to add the weight of the roof rack too.)
Offroad Animal has a cool system that ups the roof loading to 120kg / 264lbs dynamic * (driving) and 240kg / 528lbs static * (sitting still.) We manufacture these super slim rails that push the load to the strongest part of the roof (join of Roof and sides). Not only that but they use the rolled steel rail to join all 6 roof buttons per side for one strong system. So just like that you can up your roof loading to 264lbs. Nice right. We think so.
*Note that unlike some competitor products, our ratings are based on the roof rack installed on the roof, and they account for the structural limitations of the roof itself. The roof rack and mounting rails themselves are capable of sustaining much higher loads - but that is irrelevant ! At least we think so ...
Here is a picture of a damaged roof button from putting to much weight on the factory system.
This was the result of traditional cross bars with a roof top tent

Just finished this install for my 2021 JGC. The install did not take too long at all and greatly improves the look as compared to the previous rack I had.
I'm very pleased with this roof rack. It looks Great look, build solid, and mounts perfectly. I added a form strip on the lower edge of the faring and this eliminate most of the wind noise.
Very easy to put together and install! Very tough with a great look as well!
I have the rear bumper along with the front and the rails and rack plus some accessories. All of these products are the best looking protective equipment you could put on a new Grand Cherokee! Thick steel and correct fitment makes them a breeze to work with. This rack is so tough and sturdy. I’m using it to run my ARB 8’x8’ awning, maxtrax, hi-lift, and a 8gal Waterport road shower. I can still use my moonroof too.
Got the ORA roof rack installed on my Jeep WK2 in time for several days off-roading around Death Valley. Only had time before the trip to get my ARB awning up there, but will be putting my MaxTrax and HiLift there too. Overall it all worked perfectly!. The rack is rock solid and genuinely has minimal road noise even at highway speeds. No rattles and nothing loose even after days on some rough trails. The materials really are high quality and it looks awesome :). So far I couldn't be happier with it. Kudos to ORA for a great product! Steve
Super dope roof rack. Looks great and functions better. Quality hardware was chosen for this beast and beats competitors in look, design, function and load capacity.
This rack fit and installed perfectly. Right to the factory mounts. Custom appearance all the way
We decided to pull the trigger because we never have enough room on road trips with friends + luggage/gear. It’s really solid and not as heavy as I thought it would be. Installation was easy and all the parts were there, as expected. The quality is top notch as is the overall design. We are really happy with it.
Hands down the best roof rack I have found on the market. Extremely easy to put on, light weight like all their products, but extremely durable. I am 250lb and have no problem standing on it. You definitely get the most room from it compared to any other roof rack on the market. It is pricey, but I believe everything is worth the money spent. The product is shipped beautifully as well! Not a scratch on anything when it arrived.
